In the BM900 there are no high voltage caps. Just a 30V or so and it won't be a problem since it will de-charge rather quickly when powered off and in your case the too high load on the power supply will drain the cap very fast. Do take care though; at the left side of the chassis is the mains fuses and the transformer primary UN-covered, don't

Yes, I can supply a new tachodisc and also a cap kit for convinience. You don't need to disassemble the hinged lid. Let it stay on and you won't risk breaking anything. The underside of the rear plastic piece has a lip that grips the rear edge of the bottom plate. The rest is in the manual. Looks impossible but is quite simple when you know

Sounds like the protection circuit has tripped. Push back in the little yellow pin next to the red LED, in most cases it will produce a little click. Let us know if that did the trick. Martin

4u7 is the Philips way of writing 4,7uF but it's quite normal to see a "finger-antenna" introduce hum into the signal way so I wouldn't judge this particular capacitor. Generally, in this model, humming is caused by leaking and/or dried-out electrolytic capacitors, especially in the power supply and related circuits on the amp sections

First a warm welcome to Beoworld ! Next, congratulations on owning one of the most overseen, simple, yet superbly built and sounding, receivers and amplifiers ever built by B&O. The tonecontrol sliders are of the same type as the ones used in the Beomaster 1900/2400 series but they also fail here. B&O knew about this problem and at some point

I can supply those belts, three belts in total if my memory serves me right, but I don't have mounting instructions for the Beosystem 2500. I have mounting instructions for Beocord 3500/4500 and since the tapedeck is the same, the only difference would be how to gain access to the deck. Martin

There seems to be more than one version of tapedecks used in these machines. I can supply belts for one of the version, the version II. Take a look at the attached photo to determine if the belt kit I have, will fit. Martin

Yes, that's a photo I took a couple of years ago. The AV7000 pictured was a prototype and went to a new owner in Sweden. Martin (Here is one more photo of the same AV7000, note the lettering on the front only says Bang & Olufsen - no model name or number).
