All the components should have captive DIN leads that plg into the back of the Beomaster 5500, These are 7 pin leads as the extra pins carry the data signals that allow the components to talk to each other. Are you sure you have them plugged into the correct sockets? It sounds to me that the CD player is plugged into the record player socket - the diagram on the back is a little confusing! Unlug all the sources and attach one by one and see how you get on. Best wishes,
