They really should not run hat hot. Mine was fully serviced and since then has run cool unless pressed into serious service and even then it is not that hot!
-
Unusual! Never heard of this but clearly a fault - I take it is on all the time then? Or does it turn off when the system is in stand by?

You do very well. In fact the Beo4 is becoming an option even with TVs though to be fair this is because the Beo5 is also available. Didn't notice much of a price drop though in some cases!

Agree with Graham - they are the same deck. To be honest, this series of record players are fine sonically but will not set the world alight. They are very light weight and so some consideration must be given to where you will put them. The wall mount which is a heavy steel shelf well hidden by the body of the Beogram is a good solution. With a MMC2

The Beo4 is the best remote to use but is quite a bit more expensive hence my recommendation. The Beolink 1000 will work the CD and the radio and would be a good stop gap. Ignace is quite right that the Beo4 would be the best remote though. I would have tried bargaining the dealer down on price - they are quite desperate at present and eager for sales

No. The one you want is a Beolink 1000 which you can get for about £30 on eBay. Lee has one for sale in excellent condition for £85. B&O remotes use a much higher frequency than most universal remotes and very few will work. They are also nasty plastic affairs! You can use a B&O remote as a club and it will still look good! Welcome

The Beovox 1 is designed for bathrooms so it should cope as well as anything. On the remote front, why not use a Beolink 1000 but get it vacuum shrink wrapped so that there is an impermeable membrane? It will be transparent but should keep the moisture out. The batteries will last for years so you won't need to repeat the process very often.

I do not have your system so am only guessing but try GO, 5.

She is really rather musical - and I want to encourage her. Had a long discussion with the chap at the shop who is very sensible - at least I know the pros and cons - she is playing in a concert on Tuesday so will chat to her teacher then. I'll see if Tom replies. Many thanks to you both!

You know me too well! Still not completely sure though! How goes the wall? I saw it on Look North but didn't notice you on it. You must pop round some time - it has been too long since we saw each other.
