Speaking as a product owner and not a shop owner, I appreciate Bang & Olufsen's philosophy that a good product has to be thoughtfully designed and contextually relevant. That there is not a strong force within the company to adopt every new technology, or to innovate beyond the needs of the user is a strength not shared by many technology companies

At this point I would predict that the next upgrade to any chassis will be to move to the Universal Video Engine. It's not in the immediate future, but too close at hand to warrant any interim changes. In terms of capabilities, any current television is a safe bet for the future and contains nearly every portion of the UVE, only in more component
£900. Made in China. Outsourced. Sounds pretty poor. Kind of sounds like a FAKE B&O to me like those Louis Vuiiton bags that the ladies in the office bring back from their business trips to China for £20 instead of £900! Oh dear, who would be a fool to buy this BS8? Do you really think it will

The sheer volume of ignorance, wish-thinking, and hyperbole on this forum is truly breath-taking. It's like the forum never recovered for the True DTS-HD thread and the anti-B&O contingent were galvanized and emboldened. In every case, customers responded to the zeitgeist and came to B&O with the desire to see "our take" on things. They were generally enthusiastic and were eager to adopt the technology. It was just

HOW DARE THEY MAKE THIS PRODUCT IN CHINA!!!! (and elsewhere in an alternate universe...) HOW DARE THEY CHARGE $1,750 FOR THIS THING!!!! With friends like these, who needs enemies?

I haven't the faintest idea what it could be. The only future secret features I'm aware of will not require an activation key. Of course it's been speculated that people exist who know more than I do.

The BeoSound 8 is the new kid in town.
But that's just an iPod dock, isn't it? No CD, no Radio (of any kind). I seriously wonder where B&O is going :-(
BeoSound 1 has had a long and successful run. I'd grab one in the coming months if you want to own one
