Hi Kev, I have had good success with Micro-surface products. They have a terrific kit that does wonders, if requiring the patience of Job. A very kind member of BeoWorld supplied me with a new dustcover for my Beogram 4000, which required a bit of work. (Along with a few other key components) I used the Micro-surface kit and progressively wet-sanded

Thanks Peter, I’ll try that. I’ll bet you are right. Jeff

My Beogram 4002 has “developed” a disturbing deep-bass harmonic feedback. The sound builds and builds to a frightful level unless the volume is immediately lowered. My first thought was the suspension was not completely unlocked. Some adjustment was needed, but this was not the problem. Then I noticed after a prior slight adjustment of the

Hi Kev, The before and after photos are a great idea. Excellent suggestion Peter. With a little luck I will have a genuine need for the results of Kev’s view on things. (More on this later.) Best of luck with your polishing project! And thank you for keeping me (us) posted. Cheers, Jeff

Hi Dave, This is good news, nothing like having a great tech locally available. As for the Vancouver Island techs, you were being most kind. They suck. Locally it is better in the McIntosh world, but I still had to send my amp and pre-amp back to the factory in New York. Shipping alone one-way was $350! I purchased a Beomaster 4500 on eBay to serve

Hi Dave, You really need to check out these Ex- Bang & Olufsen techs as all are not created equal. One such shop near Vancouver absolutely destroyed my Beogram 8000. The same shop that performed a decent, if simple repair on my much beloved Beogram 4004. (Go figure.) A shop here in Victoria is even worse as they do minor damage each time they handle

Peter, I emailed the seller as to how best to package the Beogram 4000 and I was not encouraged by his polite response. Let us hope that this gorgeous Beogram 4000 is not going a great distance and that the customs agents in the receiving county are more respectful than the gorillas they employ at Customs Canada. Jeff

Hi Kev, I am exceedingly interested in how your meeting goes. Please keep me informed. Thanks! Jeff

Hi Kev, Scratch removal is step process. It the scratch is slight, and then you only need a light abrasive to cut down to the bottom of the scratch. Once removed you go to finer and finer polishes until the original surface condition is restored. This means the original glossy sheen. However if the scratch is deep you will need a harsh abrasive and

Cheers Kev, My Beogram 4002 was in truly flawless condition until the owner decided that the original packing material was sufficient and Customs Canada decided that the 4002 was a bomb, of all things. (NO sir, I am not kidding.) Anyway, they X-rayed the box and then attacked it, ripping it apart. The platter landed on the dust cover and it did a number
