  • Re: knobs on beolit 400

Thanx Marc for this info, when i get home i'll try to add a pic from 'my' 400 front again. I know about the limited availability of these knobs: i already bought some spares from this guy in Germany, the 400 is waiting for me in Bangkok but the spare knob i already have :)....

  • knobs on beolit 400

Does anyone know if the beolit 400 has a tone switch or only the later ones ?? This is part of the front of a 400, the tone switch knob seems missing (but indicated on the panel), however, in the product gallery the 400 only has 2 sliders on the right side (volume and afc switch). (Hmm, if i copy/paste jpg in it doesn't seem to show in the post

  • Re: Counterfeit transistors

Yeah, i know about the housings etc, the fully isolated ones have an F added, less heat transfer but also no need for insulation foil so that's more or less the same thing. Anyway, the BU in the MX2000 was the same housing etc (and doesn't use isolation foil, simply puts the over 145V pulsating current on the heatsink...not so 'neat'

  • Re: Counterfeit transistors

A couple of years ago, when it was still worth while fixing MX2000 tv's i had a strange experience with the switching transistor BU806 (i might have the number wrong, it's the one to boost the 110V into 145V) used in this tv, i don't know if it fits into the 'fake transistor' story though.... Anyway, i changed the broken BU for a

  • Re: Hyperbo Junior Radio

Yeah, nice 'piece of history', but it shows if you want to get your hands on something like that you have to be lucky and rich :). I keep my eyes on Ebay Germany and always feel sad at the end....like a beolit portable transistor radio goes easily for about 500 euros. But it makes me wonder if and how many old things come from houses being 'cleaned

  • Re: Beolit speakers (getting stuck etc)

:), it doesn't have an impact on my 'ventures' (after all i got the things i need), the same reason as you mention is why i mentioned it but what i'm getting at is that this is not an infinite source so by making it public he may sell his 44 knobs vey fast and if i need 2 more it's all gone so that's the 'double feeling'

  • Re: Beolit speakers (getting stuck etc)

@Martin: as you know i'm trying to find some repair solution but when.....apart from that to repair one you need broken ones and even those are hard to find :) (i have one now which isn't stuck but has a broken coil for a change). But as you know i'll keep you updated if finally anything pops up (from the far east). @Stonk: the owner of
