A mid-price alternative would be these: Sennheiser HD595 Simon

Depending on how much you are looking to spend you may find the Sennheiser HD600 or HD650 to be a better option than B&O headphones, as they are arguably the best headphones on the market. Sennheiser also have numerous other alternatives lower down the range starting with the HD201 for about £15 (UK) and working up from there. Simon

Welcome to Beoworld! If you want a thorough job done there is nobody better in the UK than Tim Jarman who also runs the Beocentral web site, you can reach him via the contacts section at Beocentral. Simon

Your best option is to speak to the King Street B&O dealers in Manchester as they have access to an experienced B&O repairer whio may be able to help you, or you could PM the user 'Kingstreet' on this forum. Simon

I am struggling to understand why you are looking to replce the Avant at all if you are still so happy with it! Simon

Welcome to Beoworld and thankyou for supporting the site with a Silver membership. Personally I would keep the CDX and the Redlines and buy a suitable 1980's Beomaster like the 2400-2 as you would have a great system. The Beocenter is undoubdetly the weak link. If you are determined to sell you may have more luck splitting them up and selling seperately

$1000 seems very reasonable if the drivers have been refoamed/replaced, so it's best to ask the question. Simon

Soundsmith have an adapter for $49.95 that should meet your needs. Simon
