I've gotten good usage from my Beocord 6500 deck after I found this treasure. I was searching for John Culshaw's book "The Ring Resounding" on eBay, and found one for USD 14. What the poster neglected to mention was that it came with the entire Wagner's Ring on musicassettes, with the cellophane wrappers on, clearly proving they'd

The first B&O I ever bought - nice memories, wonderful sound. Hmmm - I'd forgotten about the six AA-batteries! Congratulations with a job well done.

I think it's worth pointing out that if you want sound through those B&W speakers, you also need to purchase an amplifier. B&W recommend a set of quite expensive Classé monoblock amp's, with all the extras you require ... They're not bad speakers, far from it, they're just not as good as BL5s - something you'll find

It's been a multi-tiered mess. First, the radio stations began compressing all their content, pushing it up in volume, in order to "out-shout" other radio stations they were competing against (and of course they left an extra 3dB ceiling for the ads.) Then the radio stations discovered that they couldn't play music which wasn't
