I certainly hope the following won't get me thrown out of the B&O club, but during the late 70's and early 80's after I purchased my BM4400 and BG4004, I lusted after a pair of Magneplanar Magnaplan IIIa speakers.
I've always wanted a pair of Maggies. The single greatest pair of loudspeakers
There is no reason why the aluminum panels should have dents or the wooden veneers should have coffee cup stains on them. Why should a door or lid be "missing"?
Oh, I don't know. Sometimes life just happens. I remember dropping my entire CD collection on my RX 2 about 20 years ago. (It wasn't

I think Peter runs Beovox Pentas with his BM4400 (or is it the ever elusive BM4401?), though that's not exactly "era correct," methinks. One can never go wrong with a pair of S45-2s. There is almost always a pair for sale on Ebay, albeit without stands. But you probably want something bigger....

Benny Amina of Modular Electronics fixed my BM4000 and BG4002 in the past few months. Check out his web site - he has some BG400x restoration estimates on there. Send him an email to get the ball rolling if you decide to send him the table. He's outside Atlanta.

  • Re: BM4000 - waiting to travel the world...
I have a BM4000 as well, but now I'm not sure if I've ever opened it... it worked fine when I got it (even without apparent idle current problems) but has a noisy transformer, so I haven't really set it up for use anywhere.
Oooohhhh, open it, open it, open it! You know what waits inside....

Okay, same as record player I guess.
Yes, and I'm more than sure that Rich will fall in here soon and make his "TT ads" ... BTW, my actual TT count is 4 (not including the old JVC): I forgot my BG1500 to play my 78 shellacs through some Beovox M
So how many
Here Leslie and Soren ! I am the long haired old stoner on the left. BTW Rich 13 is my current count on TT.
For some reason I have a strong desire to listen to Motley Crue. (And I am NOT a fan.) Egads, 13? My hero!

  • Re: S80.2 speaker repair
And I've only got one opinion, from Soren, in favor of staying with foam surrounds instead of rubber. Anyone else? Both are available from good_hifi. I liked the fit on the c75 surrounds from them. Those were foam. Good-hifi says other brands installed the S80 type woofers with rubber. Thanks, Steve
No opinion
