Hmm.. Normally, the adjustments can move more than far enough to allow for misadjustments at both extremes. It's hard to diagnose without actually "seeing with my fingers" but clearly something is amiss. Hopefully nothing is bent. I think, I would try the wire adjustment again and maybe set it in a little too far. The needle will not die

Has the woofers faded due to sunlight ? It's very common to see lighter and darker areas on the cone - it has been like that since new. Those original SEAS (in some Beovox S60 VIFA) woofers are practically impossible to match with modern day drivers. Original drivers are generally sought after and no doubt the best for the speakers. Yes, the old Beomaster 2000 and 2200 have wonderful sounding amplifiers. I would prefer them to any newer hybrid amp anytime. Martin

It could be this factory fault; After playing a CD with more than apprx 50-55 minutes on it, when loading a new CD the laser block does not move to track zero before the servo times out, then the CD is ejected. One more attempt will allow for the rest of the travel and it will play. It seems to occur only in machines within the serial number range 3375001

I am not familiar with the one you mention, but I think it will work. It's just a matter of finding out which tracks to play to get to the same functions. Often the test CD's come in sets of two.
