  • Re: CD50 Problem - Agggh!

Look in from the left side and check if the laser lens moves up and down in search for a CD (focus point). Check that no wires have broken off the switches in the bottom of the mech. Check that all plugs and connectors are mounted. Check for bad solders in the power supply area, especially around the voltage regulators at the rear. Martin

  • Re: Beocenter 8000 CD problems

I don't know why, that's just the way it is. I've serviced countless machines and I have tried different types of caps but the mentioned one is the only type that works. I know that Martin from Germany (Die_Bogener) has come to the same conclusion. Often, the defective cap, when measured out of circuit, seems fine but a new cap cures the

C2103 should be a blue Philips axial type - 33uF like the original. Many other types will not work and you can forget about low ESR types - they won't work. Don't look directly into the laser, you will risk damage to your eyes. The laser normally shines a pale blue if seen using a digital camera (or cell phone camera). Remote control IR LED's

  • Re: Beovox S80 modification?

Where are you located ? I can supply a capacitor kit but basic soldering skills and tools are required to replace them. I also have a pair of original used but refoam'ed woofers. Martin

  • Re: Beovox S80 modification?

Welcome to Beoworld ! The woofers in your Beovox S80 are not original (and they don't have foam rot). It's safe to say that all original S80 woofers suffer from foam rot now if not repaired. Many owners are not aware that a repair is possible and buy new replacement woofers. Sadly, too often the original woofers are thrown away and the replacement

  • Re: Type K speakers

I was not bidding. I didn't even know that the speakers were listed for sale, I thought it was a pair you had and was considering selling. I don't think foam rot is an issue with these speakers. They may have dried out but usually nothing more than a light coat of contact glue will fix. Martin

  • Re: Type K speakers

Very rare, indeed if a pair ! Many were sold individually for use as an extra speaker for valve radios. Value ? What someone is willing to pay. It's so hard to tell, condition is everything and the right buyer needs to be there. But where is the radio, that they were used with ? Martin

  • Re: Beomaster1900 & 2400

Welcome to Beoworld ! You can buy service manuals from B&O, most are quite costly and they may not even have the BM1900 manual available anylonger. If a used manual will do, you can do a search on f.e. Ebay, they do come up occasionally. Finally, if a scan/email is enough to cover your needs why not sign up for silver membership. This will also
