Due to the way the suspension is constructed, it will always move a little while the carriage is transported in or out but it shouldn't bang against something. I suggest you lift off the platter and check that the suspension, leaf springs etc. is all mounted and working correctly. Check also the height of the platter when mounted, apprx 1mm above

Hi Rick, If the caps haven't been replaced already, they really should be. The relays are for the soft-start and safe shutdown circuits and anything amiss here should of course be corrected. Readymade capacitor kits are available for the Beomaster 8000, Ebay or directly from me Martin

Jeff, I don't recall ever seeing little rubber pads under the lid but check the parts list in the service manual. I am not at home right now so can't do so myself. Martin

I suppose you had the mechanisms apart. Check that the switch is activated to indicate when the drawer is fully closed. If you press play with a CD inserted, is it being ejected ? Martin
