Could be due to an unstable power supply for the processor. Probably down to aging capacitors. A repairshop will have the instruments to confirm. Martin

I would take a look at the transistors in the H-bridge driving the arm motor. Martin

250mA or 300mA doesn't really matter much. Put 300mA in, it will blow if anything goes wrong. Martin

There are minor differences and also quite a few aftermarket updates to both models but largely yes. Martin

I would love to answer the question if only I was sure I knew the answer. I do remember that many years ago I had a similar problem and I had to go in from underneath the tonearm carriage to get to the little PCB board. In other words, you need to turn the carriage upside down or lift it to near horizontal and remove a cover of some sort. I am not 100

Maybe the steel bars where the carriage rides are in need of lubrication. Silicone grease will be fine here. The old lubricants will usually wipe off with a soft cloth. Martin

A superb solution ! Thanks for sharing this with us, Chris. As already mentioned, I've mounted a hinge that Chris repaired and it was an exact fit and was the final detail in a complete overhaul. The next hinge is already with Chris. Every machine has it's weak points. The Beogram CD X has many, luckily most are easily fixed, but this hinge
