Clearly cards close to chest, but the intimation of long life products and upgrading possibilities should please many. The switch to software worries me a little as I cannot see B&O competing with Apple who have so much more budget and develop products so quickly and cheaply. You need a Mark 4 which is type number 8939, 894x depending on where you live - basically if the number is either 8939 or starts with the 3 digits 894, you have a Mark 4!

It is a fault in the amplifier of the Penta. The boards inside are not of the highest quality and do age. I would look for a working pair! There are plenty around.

The advantage of digital music is that it is all accessible easily. I can select any track or album I want anywhere in my Beolinked house. I do not have to go and get the CD or LP out. I also have a constantly running back up of all files and have the collection burnt to DVD as well (well the classical bit anyway!). The future of music is digital whether

No! When in stand by, the lights should be red, when playing green, and amber indicates a fault.

The problem here is that the present BS5 is just a demo model. Dealers cannot add music above what is supplied - the software is awaited.... Therefore apart from what you have seen on site, it is tricky to say!!

I use baically the same but connect my Mac to the Beoport so have it wired through the house. The iPod wirelessly controls the Mac from anywhere in the house - I get coverflow etc Of course I can also use laptops around the house to also control the music and gey a full display of iTunes ut the iPod works very well. I love fountain pens! Actually now collect those rather than B&O!! Mont Blanc do make good pens but they are rather expensive and are regarded by some as a boutique brand. I suppose this could be regarded as a bit like B&O except Mont Blanc are one of the big players.I do have a 146 Le Grand which is fine, but it is a little soulless some how
