  • Re: Beosound 5 specs

Good question - it would seem from reading the manuals that it is in the BS5. No mention of MOTS in the Beomaster user manual. No obvious way to enable it as you have the standard Beomedia interface when used with a TV.

I think the analogy with an MCP or Beolink 7000 is a good one. In today's money, a Beolink 7000 would cost £960. Now the Beomedia, on which the BM5 is heavily based, is £1500. I think we would agree that the BS5 is a bit more sophisticated than the Beolink 7000 (possibly not in relation to what was available on the market mind you!)

  • Re: Quick qestion about Beocenter 9500

What speakers are they? All speakers actually have variable impedance depending on frequency and the figure is very much plucked from the air. If an amplifier was perfect, the lower the impedance, the more power would be available. If you look at the power delivery chart of the Beolab 5000 amplifier, you can see a typical response from a good amplifier

  • Re: Beomaster 5000

Always tricky - these are good systems but are not able to use the same remote as the more modern systems. they can be seen as a transition system therefore. The components however are good and will work with the 5500, 6500 and 7000 systems. the Beogram 5000 and CD50 are both very good but none will get a very big price. The Beocord is actually one

To be fair to the BS9000, it has been upgraded a number of times. I am not sure if the DAC has changed but it is the same as the one in the Naim CD5 which is a very highly thought of CD player. Obviously it only has to deal with CD output and has no need for more than this. Some would claim it is a master of one rather than a jack of all trades!

  • that

Searching the music via B&O - say on the Beocenter 2 - is laborious and quite frankly a pain. Doing it on iTunes on the computer or via an iPod Touch is easy and is how I do it. Not had hands on with a BS5 and as the present model has only the music put on by B&O without the ability to add one's own collection, I see no way of finding out

I would be happy to chat about it ! It would seem a very simple idea and one that would appeal to the vast majority of B&O users.

  • Re: Quick Beo4 Query

That is really quite old! I would insist on a newer one. Just had a play with one of my older ones which seems like the one you describe. I can get L-PC on the list but not PC. Certainly the remote you have is not the one designed for use with the product you have so get a newer one rather than messing about trying to work out a solution (which there

  • Re: Cable Management

I postulated a solution a number of years ago. You need a custom Medusa head wire with lots of heads but one body. You could easily standardise a couple of these to suit most systems and it would make cable management so much easier. If there was need for aqn exra cable, it would not have to fight the huge tangle we have now. A standard cable could
