  • Re: New Power Supply Caps for Beomasters 6000/8000

I have no doubt they are better as the chemestry involved has come on a lot since then! I guess you are right about the voltage limits, although I know Martin advises a higher voltage rating in this instance - Although I do not like to speak on behalf of him so wait till he pops along :) My caps are shorter but the correct diameter, so spacing will

Hi Jacques, I think you need a higher voltage tbh as there is not a great deal of headroom considering the amount of work these caps might be expected to do! I went for Panansonic 80V jobs rated near the 8A ripple rating of the originals. Not 'audio grade' but decent enough quality IMO! Still got to get royund to installing them I am rather

  • Re: MX 4000 Black with Motorised Wall Bracket.... £30 - Leicester, UK

I almost persuaded her Llewelyn (seriously!) but alas she has decided I am banned from any more until I get rid of some items first. I reckon I can sneak a couple of items in under her nose but a TV? No chance!

  • Re: Funny issues with MCP 5500 and Beomaster 5500

I would check for liquid spillage in the MCP personally. Almost sounds like a ransomly operating or sticky button but not sure about that. On my MCP I found battery acid all over the opamp which reads the IR Rx diodes for volume control. Cleanup alone was not enough some tracks had to be repaired. Have you removed batteries for a while then replaced

  • Re: Oak M75's?!

If they were anything but oak I think you would have probably restored by now Mika, but I can't imagine something so light in shade being restored to look as good as they once were! I suppose it could make a good experiment. At the worst could you stain or paint

Someone should snap this up for the wall bracket alone at this price! I am only sorry I don't live closer Llewelyn!

  • Re: Oak M75's?!

I recently visited a guy off ebay who had B&O stuff everywhere. He had some gorgous S80.2's in oak I could not believe how nice they looked! What really struck me was that the quality of the veneer around the edges (these were MINT) stood out much more than on rosewood and teak examples. Light shading I guess! Very memorable seeing them though

  • Re: Beomaster 1900: Volume Lights Balance

Nicely done :) I once spent a fortune on Tina (similar I assume to pspice) but couldn't remember how to operate it from my collage days so it has remained unused :( I really respect you for doing this it is a great way of learning all the little things one might miss through simply stairing at a diagram! Tonights homework: try introducing other

  • Re: Beocord 9000, recently acquired

Just to add to Jacques good advice there is the spool clutch assembly which should be dismantled and checked for a crack in the supporting shaft this can have an adverse effect on operation. Look for a recent thread in the workbench section (page 2 or 3) regarding a Beocord 8000 (same mech) to see what I am talking about! I also changed the playback
