• Re: Please help me with my design project, answer a few questions, thanks!
I wish I had the internet to do my homework when I was studying
Here's another one in case you folks have too much free time...

  • Re: CX-50 Sealed vs. Bass Reflex
Any ideas on the design of the reversible back plate?
I'm quite sure it's not designed to be any kind of an option, it just happens to be possible to install it in two ways. Now take Joe Random who dismantles a pair of speakers and then puts them back together; having one end up the other way and one the

  • Re: Beovox RL Passive Loudspeakers

Aren't there type stickers at the rear? I seem to recall they told this in clear words, if not, there should be at least the four digit type number, which is 6503 for RL60 and 6513 for RL60.2. If the sticker is missing completely, take a flashlight and try to peek through the fabric. At one end, the RL60 will have a large, rectangular metal plate

  • Re: An old cupboard ...

Don't play Pink Floyd's Waiting for the Worms on it when it's done Somebody went through a lot of trouble to construct that setup. Wonder if the lower shelf once even housed a slightly more modern turntable? The cupboard looks like a '50s / early '60s thing...

  • Re: Beovision datalink compatibility with Beosystem 5000
which I guess highlights the issue - how could one envision a TV as a slave to an audio system (which is I guess wht B&O talks about audio masters and video masters) and what commands should it respond to ? I know we could image that it should be thought of as a radio (but which Beosystems have discrette radios?

  • Re: What Are You Working On Now ?

This will eventually be B&O related... got this cheap "SCART splitter" from Biltema. It's nothing but short a SCART cable, terminated in a box with two female SCART connectors in parallel. The build & material quality can be best described as complete sh*t (I resoldered some points right away), but since the cable is very short

  • Re: REG 2 command of Beo4 for Beo5/6 remote

You should be able to receive B&O commands with the TT455-RT-238, if you connect an external receiver to it. Lintronic sells one and according to the pictures on their web site, it's a regular issue B&O hockey puck with perhaps a custom cable. (I've never used these products myself, so don't really know much more than this.)

  • Re: Beomaster 8000/6000 Remote IR Wavelength
The I/V curve in the datasheet suggests that about 2.5V should yield about 2A...??
In principle, yes... but once you start to design & implement a 2A @ 2.5V power supply that can be used to source 1 / 40 kHz * 0.05 = 1.25 µs pulses (not to mention the required rise & fall times) you realize it's

Just when you least expect it... a commercial break! This must be the only medium where I love them!

  • Re: Beomaster 8000/6000 Remote IR Wavelength
I understand from your discussion that all IR LEDs are compatible with any IR receivers in terms of emitted light wavelength, i.e. it would not matter if I used an IR LED with 850nm output or one with 940nm?
Yes, it will work - the sensitivity might be reduced a bit if the peaks are far apart, but as long
