Hi, This is not uncommon, and is often attributed to the filter in the receiver going out of specification ... a simple solution is to swap out the whole board with one from an otherwise broken set. Neil

It could well be that the tube really has seen better days ... does the set look as though it is well used? There are plenty of tubes around, many of which are still in very respectable shape ... it may be worth swapping out. Neil

The box does indeed look like an MCL2AV ... can you confirm the text on the box above the sockets? Neil

Are you sure its set for the type of box you have? As the codes are different (but I am sure you know this). Neil

What does not work on it? Have you checked to see if there is output from the IR blaster? Or is it just the codes that are wrong? Neil

Hi, If you are ever down south, I would be happy to look at it for you. Neil

I dont believe that this is an issue "only" with the device getting too hot ... or they would all do it straight from the box ... its a combination of factors and my general feeling is one of board level reliability (BLR). If the airflow around the device was better from day one, or heatsinking from day one or a better method of attachment
