I bought a BS5 to replace my Beoport. So far, I've been fine with using the BeoPort controls with the BS5. I'm thinking about doing a proper programming, however. I seem to recall warnings about not deleting equipment from a configuration file. What would be the best approach to remove a BeoPort and add a BS5? Make my BeoPort zone invisible

My Beo5 is programmed for a BeoPort rather than Beosound 5. This allows me to specify N.Music and N.Radio and simple navigation. Chances are that your TV has a "fixed" volume audio output. This means that the audio output level does not change. Look at the owner's guide or look closely to the back of the TV and the word "fixed" may be printed near the output jacks. If you are lucky, your TV has 2 sets of audio output jacks. One is fixed, the other is variable

There is a little known feature of a BeoLink Active that allows it to accept audio input via the PC port. I have a Toshiba LCD TV that I've connected the audio output to the PC input on the active. I believe you want option 6. It could be in whatever option causes it to ignore the Beo4. Does anything happen if you touch the square on the display that says "Mute" on it. This should turn the speaker on/off. Does it display the correct time? If it doesn't display the time (it may take a minute or two for this to happen) and the "mute"

I believe the BS5/BM5 must be audio master. Otherwise, it will not send sound to its ports... at least this has been my experience. Stan
