Thomas; I had the same experience with a new MAC Powerbook laptop, also running MS XP on one side ( which is very hard to find these days ). I use AVG on the PC side of the HD but I don't recall any issues with the firewall or antivirus. In my case, I took the old version of Beoplayer off ( using Add/Remove ), rebooted, reinstalled the new version

Both are good speakers, but for your Utility-Laundry Room application, I would suggest the 2000. Easier to clean, robust metal construction, can be mounted or freestanding ( moved as needed ), hand or remote controlled, and is ML linked to certain B&O systems. Brainstorming along this line there are some possibilities that might be available with Bluetooth. I have a MACBOOK w/ XP + Bluetooth downstairs for work, and a newer PC with Bluetooth upstairs. Stan's AE suggestion 3 minutes ago might be well worth looking into. I originally set my laptop up with Beoplayer + Beoport to test it, (It was called PC2 then). As most of us commute with our laptops, I decided to connect Beoport to a desktop PC and leave it in place. There have since been a number of ML speakers added, and 3 successive desktops
