Hi & welcome to Beoworld. It sounds like the internal battery might need replacing. See HERE which is for the Beocenter 9500 though the 4500 is a similar model. The battery will need to be soldered in. Tons of service & user manuals are availabe from this website but you'll need to upgrade to a silver or gold member to gain access. Well

Trying to assist further... Based on Martin's response they are available on Ebay but in packs of 10. Maybe CPC or Maplins might be better. This is presuming Martin's correct.......if the guy buys them and they turn out not to be right it's all Martin's fault

Bump! Brilliant Mdyarnell. 20e is well worth reverting a radio cassette back to a full Beocenter 9000. If I even had a fully working model I'd buy one off you just for insurance! Hats off to you
