For reference, the contrast screen just pops off. Very gently , push a small flat-head screwdriver under the little notch at the bottom of the screen in the centre. Steady on Dave, although you are largely right (as usual). Everything on iTunes now though is of iTunes Plus quality (256kbps AAC) which is very good quality indeed. iTunes Previews are much lower in quality though - 128kbps AAC (the old standard) which is awful.

Running a full sweep on the monitors on my desk at the moment shows they peter out at a measly 45 Hz, wheras the Genelecs I was using the other day responded down to 25 Hz (which is exceptional for a compact speaker). BeoLab 9s, the BeoLab 2 and obviously the BeoLab 5s will reproduce 20 Hz without any difficulties. I know BeoLab 5s go considerably deeper

RE adjusting the volume, you may find that the normal OS X volume control is too sensitive. I discovered recently you can hold OPTION + SHIFT at the same time to do more accurate adjustments...

I wouldn't say it makes the BeoLab 3s sound bad, they still will sound excellent (although just how any speaker can sound excellent with Flo Rida on it is beyond me) just lacking in true 'sub-bass'. Don't forget the BeoLab 9s have very, very powerful (and large) bass drivers built in, the BeoLab 3 is IMO equally as impressive.

Without a doubt. In fact IMO the SD picture on a BeoVision 9, BeoVision 4 or indeed any other BeoSystem 3-driven system is quite frankly jaw-dropping, even on a 65".
