Peter : Silly question from me! Why? The most up to date software is 1.6 for this model and only fixes a problem where the DVD can stop playing half way through. I don't think there are other advantages. It means replacing a chip on PCB1 but I am sure you could do this - if you had the chip! Not much inside the DVD1! "only fixes a problem where
