Words of encouragement I cannot offer you. Sorry. What I can tell you is that the symptom you describe is what happened with my BG4002 a few months ago. See this thread. The ultimate cure was a new motor professionally installed. Good luck!

Tuesday and Wednesday I was in Wisconsin and Iowa on business and stopped at the used record store in La Crosse. Picked up a larger than usual haul, so that was cool. I'd pay that much for M70 trumpet stands. A complete, working (except for no cartridge on the turntable), cosmetically nice 6500 system with MCP plus 2 other remotes was listed on Orlando's CraigsList for $450 this past week. Um, correct me if I'm wrong but that was a steal.

Welcome to the BM4000 club! Good luck and congratulations. I'm sure you'll check for it, but make sure you have equal output in both channels. That was my first indication mine was failing. Or are you going to recap it regardless? And be sure and look for that envelope inside with the schematic!
