I have a project to replace the mother in laws dying Samsung CRT TV, and as she is now over 70 will only accept a good old CRT TV. I am looking at a Piano black Avant 28 inch with DVD but she commented that she liked the look of the Beocentre 1. Apart from their cosmetic difference what technological advantages does either have over the other? Please

About 25 years ago CD's came along. And people wrote them off as an inferior media too Vinyl. Then those people went out and bought CD's and players(inferior remember) in vast quantities. B&O produced a beautiful range of players for this inferior media and it was a huge success. Now MP3 is the dominant media, those same people who trumpeted

Found this as i'm getting bored waiting for a decent Iphone dock(apart from the B&W Zeppelin). http://www.eleganttechnology.co.uk/2009/07/06/new-ipod-dock-from-bang-and-olufsen/

I watched this last night and was impressed. But after a long day at work thinking about the trials and tribulations of the world(do i get a 7-40 or a 10-40 etc) i feel B&O missed a trick with this. All i saw was a very nice frame being put round a Samsung screen with a couple of speakers plonked in. Now i know there is more to it than this with

Has anyone tried buying a 7-40 and then upgrading it by just changing the screen?. IE the stand and say the beolab2 speaker remained, and a new screen fitted.

I was told that the mk5 would not be a radical LED LCD developement, but a natural progression to a 200hz panel! Good luck and i hope you enjoy it.

Thank you, Having visited a local shop with the chance of comparing a 7-40 next to an 10-46 with the same program playing, i concluded that although the picture on the 10 was sharper, the overall image on the 7 was much more natural as was the colour. Everything seemed a little softer and in my opinion far more B&O like. Opinion changed and it just

LED LCD has a far better contrast ratio than any backlit Plasma/LCD screen. If it didn't why would B&O have gone to all the work of using it in their latest 3 televisions? 7-55 LED, 10-40&10-46 both LED, doesn't make sense and the figures back this up. Are Phillips and Sony so wrong in stopping all backlit LCD screens with almost immediate

If you listen to DAB and are within a wireless network, just link your Iphone etc to "tunein radio" app and then connect it to something like the B&W Zeppelin. $500 AND you get a good speaker(with B&O ICE apparently!) This i s what i have right up until B&O pulls it finger out and makes a dedicated MP3/phone player

But will soon have a LED LCD panel no doubt and this is my problem. The contrast is in a different league. As of next year all Sony tv's will only have LED LCD panels!
