I had no real headphones to speak of, so I bought myself a pair of U70's. They work fine, but all the metal plates under the controls are shaped like bananas, and like to slide out of place. To be honest, crappy cables may have trouble working (depending on the actual equipment at the ends) even at 10 m. But I agree - don't fall for any cable voodoo, just avoid the cheapest cable sets you can possibly find. When it works, the picture is as good as it can be at any distance.
