  • Re: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

    We have already started, namely watching Freddie Frinton's Dinner for One on TV - the same procedure as every year!

  • Re: BeoSystem 5500 - Dug out from storage and in need of repair.

    kneedowndean: The control unit is a MCP 5500, the rotary volume control does not work at all. I suspect its an issue with the controller because if I rotate it it does not 'light' up the MCP display or show "NO CONTACT". You might be in luck then - that means that possibly just the switch contacts in the rotary control are dirty or

  • Re: Avant & BM5500

    Must be an option problem - my 6500 doesn't respond to any of the video commands, but turns on on AUX if I select AV-TV (or AV-videoanything). I'd try reprogramming the Beomaster to Option 1 first.

  • Re: Beo 4 Damage Limitation or User Manual?

    I took another look, and on page 5-1 there are two adjustments for the MCP - the power supply voltage and the volume control pulse amplitude. I'm afraid that's all there is to be found...

  • Re: Beo 4 Damage Limitation or User Manual?

    Xseries: I have looked at the BM 6500 manual at the download site, but sadly it appears to be missing the final few pages. There is a breakdown of the parts in an MCP but nothing more. Well, the schematic is on page 2-6, PCB pictures on 2-7, display survey and IC pinouts on 2-8, and finally the mechanical breakout and parts list on 4-3. Page 4-4 is

  • Re: Beo 4 Damage Limitation or User Manual?

    No, I'm not that old I'm couple of months short, though - I thought starting this thread would've been enough, but now I've sent the email as well. No problem at this point, for some peculiar reason I can still download the manuals, which is all I'll need for some weeks...

  • Re: Beo 4 Damage Limitation or User Manual?

    Xseries: Do you have one for an MCP 5500 or 6500 by any remote possibility (pardon the pun!) ? The MCP5500/6500 is handled in the service manual for Beomaster 6500 (I don't know if there's a more thorough manual for it separately ). I would've told you this yesterday in the Wanted section, but my stars have been prematurely robbed from me

  • Re: Have B&O gone mad with their prices?

    Puncher: In all seriousness the only real omission, if you are to integrate it in a B&O setup, is Masterlink and Powerlink. ...and the remote control, unless you have a Beo5 (and want to use it) or shell out more dough for some other solution...

  • Re: Merry Christmas Everyone!!

    j0hnbarker: Tomorrow afternoon at 15:00 I will be listening to the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols from King's College, Cambridge, on Radio 4 here in the UK. I'll be using my lovely old 1960 B&O Jet Present 607 valve radio to listen on FM - how cool is that? FM on a 48 year old set! Extremely! The original AC Delco radio in my 1962 Cadillac

  • Re: beogram 1700

    Welcome to Beoworld, David! I suppose your turntable is victim to a very common problem (happens to all of them, sooner or later) on this kind of mechanisms. The arm lifter gets stuck when the lubrication ages. This thread should show you how to fix it. It's not too hard and doesn't require any special tools, just plenty of care and patience;
