  • Re: can I plug my 30 gig ipod into my beomaster 5000

Yes - best done through a Dock and simply run a cable from the dock line output to one of the Tape inputs. If it is a reasonably modern iPod, you can use the Apple remote to control it. If you want to control your iPod through your B&O remote, you need to chat to Ridax and get one of his kits . It works with the 5000. The S50 is a perfectly good

  • Re: Beogram 4000 Update

Martin (Dillen) can get you the belts. If you are replacing the DIN lead, you can use a thick Powerlink cable with the central and two bottom pins cut out. They are well shielded and work rather well. My 4000 has one! My 4000 also has a voltage selector on the bottom and works with 110, 120, 220 and 240V at both 50 and 60Hz. Is yours different?

  • Re: CDX problem

Very odd! The CDX is a lovely machine - it is really a Philips CD104 in a flash box but is none the worse for that as Philips made the best CD players at that time. It is a 14 bit 4x oversampling machine which is stone age technology but which imbues the sound with an almost analogue character which is most seductive. I use one regularly. They are wonderfully

  • Re: Beogram 7000

Be aware that the Beogram 7000 needs to be plugged into a normal input, not a dedicated record player input. To bring the output of a cartridge up to the same level as a CD player, a device called a RIAA is required. This amplifies an equalises the signal. Most record players simply output the cartridge output and expect the RIAA to be fitted in the

  • Re: Working record/playback head for BeoCord 5000 Cassette Deck Types 47XX (3 head type)

I always thought that the three head one never worked properly - even when new! That is why they changed the 4715 to two head. That one only chewed the tapes as opposed to the 4705 in which the heads would go out of alignment and then it would chew the tape! (I have the 4715 which I love dearly as one would a recalcitrant child!)

  • Re: Sonos, DAC, total confusion

I would attach the Sonos directly via digital to the BL5s. No point repeatedly switching between analogue and digital so an external DAC would seem superfluous. Nice avatar by the way. I had one of those for a while but actually prefer my old Littman with plain tubes! Getting deafer though so may try one again!

  • Re: Beogram 7000

Nice find - probably the most valuable Beogram. The cable is a 7 pin DIN cable that plugs into a Beomaster (B&O speak for a tuner amplifier). The output from the Beogram 7000 is actually at line level so will plug into any line in socket. It would be possible with the correct adapter cable to run this to a sound card of a computer as long as it

  • Re: CDX problem

Which socket have you plugged it into? I wonder if it is the Phono socket on your 2400! It should be the Tape socket.

  • Re: B&O needs to re-position themselves in the market with a fabulous flagship product. What should it be?

More radical looks. I would have a flat table like structure with the bottom third aluminium and the top two thirds a screen which would be black whilst off. When activated, there would be a projected key pad on the aluminium which would be touch sensitive and thus keep finger marks off the screen. The projection would change with different functions
