Hi, In theory, BeoPort won't work with a BeoSystem 2500. In practice, it can work, but with limitations. You need a BeoLink converter box type 1611 to connect both units, the BS2500 via Datalink, and the BeoPort box via Masterlink. You'll have to setup the audio system to option 0, and the BeoPort box to option 2 , and connect your Beolabs

They upgraded the woofer & ABL settings, but the change was so minor, that there was neither "mark II" change, nor "type nr" modification..you have to check the serial number to see if the 8000 is the 1st or 2nd version; besides, the tech specs have not moved at all..

To me it would bring lots of improvements to these column speakers: - the amps would take much less space, which would allow more space for another woofer for bass (making it a 3-way rather than 2-way speaker) - even without going that far

Another new feature I just discovered is that BeoPort can find the mp4 files when scanning the library, if they are compressed .mp4 audio and even video files, they will play on BeoPort, but if they are Apple Lossless, they won't play, even if they are listed in the BeoPort albums. I just converted an album from WMA lossless to ALAC, both are listed

The new version doesn't change anything by default, you can setup or disable the "show triangle" in "setup/config/general"; apart from that, no radical change has been noticed, maybe some bugs were fixed, that's all..

Hi, if you have the fixed table stand, then BeoLab 4 should fit, I use BeoLab 4000 as you can see, the rest of the speakers are Lab 3 (front & rear), and I'm planning to add one last Lab 3 soon (when Lee has one available on his site!). If you have Lab 6000, I think the Lab 4 will be a nice addition, you can always add a non B&O subwoofer

Hi, You can get phono to Powerlink adapters from any B&O dealer, connect the phono plug to your audio preamp output and the other end to each BeoLab 3, select "line" input on the Lab 3, and off you go!
