The obvious thing to do is get a Beosystem 3 and the flat screen you want - but at a guess, this will be quite pricey. A second hand Beosystem 2 would be possible if less well specified. What you are really asking for is a non B&O set with Masterlink - they don't make one I am afraid. You can certainly use the speakers with other sets though

I would download the service manual - you are a gold member so it is is available. There are two service menus - the customer one and the proper one. This highlights the issue of module replacement. With the older equipment, a 50 pence component would simply be replaced by a skilled technician - now it is all complete modules. Not sure about anyone else but this depresses me.

Well done! I suggest Martin could have been correct and the belt had slipped and jammed the motor. If you cut the belt, do it at an angle so you have a larger surface to glue.

You are going to need to do some contact tracing with a multimeter. The Beogram 3000 is not that complicated - the service manual is on site. I would however start a new thread as this one is not really relevant and you will get fewer comments. Start another one in the Workbench section entitled Beogram 3000 problem - or similar.

On BeoWorld they had a completely independent area with moderators voted on by themselves with no interference at all. Instead they have decamped to their own site with the costs involved and the need for pop up advertising

It was - but the members actually then set up their own forum and traffic simply stopped. This site had been running short of space - we are about to move to a new server to deal with this - and as the forum was no longer being used, a decision was made to end it.
