Stu, Welcome to Beoworld ! There can be different symptoms and versions of the lift/lower fault depending on which mechnical components have seized and whether or not there's also an electronic fault. The Beogram will need servicing. Cleaning, lubrication etc. Martin

If you solely work with 70's and newer radios, you probably won't be familiar with many of the components in a 30's set so let's take a brief look at some of the major components, where they are and what they do; A, CCH2 Valve, mixer-hexode. RF amplifier, mixer, oscillator or just "Tuner front-end". B, EF5 Valve, (in this set

The chassis is normally held in place by four screws with hex-heads encapsulated in bakelite. Remember that this is an AC/DC universal radio with no mains transformer so the chassis and any metal parts in direct contact with it, can potentially be the bearer of live mains. There's a good chance that touching anything metal on the radio will kill

The factory specs are all stated in the service manual which also gives the correct measuring points. Replace the trimmers before adjusting, the old ones will be bad and could be the reason for the Beomaster not working. There are four trimmers in total on the amp board. The 74.8 FM readout is the typical symptom of a dead prescaler IC. This part has

Welcome to Beoworld ! The problem is probably because of oxidated contacts in a switch. Could be the tape switch or one of the adjacent switches operated on the front of the Beocenter or the record/playback switch operated by the record button on the tapedeck. A bit of switch cleaner will probably fix it. Maybe even activating the tape and record buttons

Thanks guys. Francoisvl wrote and Chris agreed: I am totally spellbound! If I opened this radio, I would close it immediately!! - You have my deepest respect for this. Actually, this is what most vintage radio restorers would prefer of the radios owners. Andy wrote: I wonder if the bulb exists in a non B&O environment, or was made specifically for

The capacitors on the power supply module 16 will probably be bad. The reset circuit for the CPU will need checking, if my memory serves me rigth there's a trimmer that goes bad. Finally a complete overhaul of the amplifier module, new caps and new trimmers for idle current and DC offset (plus of course a new adjustment of these) Burned resistors

Yes, direct your browser directly to Ebay by typing www.ebay ... in the address field. Log in and check it that way. Martin

Det er sikkert lidt oxidation på kontakterne. Det er normalt hvis Beogram'en ikke har været brugt i lang tid. Prøv at starte den 20-30 gange og se om det går i orden. Martin
