I have it working here at home with my own Macs. You simply set iTunes to locate its music on the BeoMedia and choose the option to keep it organized. Then you can set a backup at regular intervals

I am gob smacked!! To start chop shopping a BV9 seems incredible. I would favour getting an old BV5, take the screen and innards out and put a new 42" screen and a BS3 in the back. It will be cheaper, will be a little smaller and will be stereo. And will have lots of connections and be HD. You can get rid of the BV9 - I'll send you my address

The problem you have is the length of the USB cable. Maximum length will be 5m. I have a 10m cable between the BC2 and BC2 switch unit. 5m just would not be enough.
