I have a Beosystem 10 bought from new in 1991 and still in mint condition. (I know the failings of the item - Japanese manufacture, poor cassette deck and single unit speakers - but the design is elegant and the radio section is fine.) Is the amplifier up to driving CX 50s at low/moderate volume levels in a small room? Cleve

Thanks Steve that's really helpful Cleve

I have an early Beosystem 2500 with the original Beolab 2500 speakers. I want to buy an early pair of Beolab 4000s (Non ICE) to replace the BL 2500s. Are there any compatibility problems particularly with 'Powerlink' cables?

Thansk Dylan, The storage is a big factor - I have a non-B&O DVD player at the moment so at least I can hide it and the STB!

You have a point. The 28" widescreens look smaller than my LX5500 so maybe I need the 32" to minimse the slight "sense of loss" a 16:9 ratio widescreen can give Cleve

Neil, Thanks. I think I know what you mean - I love my 17 year old MX which is still going strong in a second room, but my LX5500 picture is dying (text, subtitles etc distorting and blurring around the edge of the screen) and I want a similar sized screen with equally as good sound or better sound.

Thank you - nice to get the Danish perspective!

Dave, Thanks very much. The amplification and speakers on the 28" Avant are the same as on the 32" and sound excellent. It's still a tricky decision -I've always really wanted the Avant but the 3, as you say, offers a lot of bang for your buck. Take care Cleve
