I live in Montreal, Canada and I have to say that B&O is just little better known that in the US, but always regarded as elitist. A good story is that I sold a pair of my reconditioned CX100's to a friend of mine and I helped him install them. My friend had these gigantic old speakers he wanted to get rid off. Just about finished installing
Tough question! I like Mika's selection and I like Milton's idea for some diversity! hmmm... 1.) BL/BM5000 2.) Beolit 1000 3.) BG4000 4.) Any LAB Mondrians 5.) BL7000
Hi Jeff, Totally agree on everything in your selection ... imo some of the best examples of fabulous design with matching performance

Sounds like both will need new drive belts Regards
Hi, I'm sorry to hear that you have such an unsupportive dealer. You should write that directly to B&O! Do I understand you correct that you use an Equalizer on highend speakers like the Beolab 5? In my opinion these are speakers that are intended to listen to as they sound - without any external correction. Do you

The Penta's should be fine for the size of the room. However it seems more that the room acoustics are the problem. When I moved from a regular apartment drywall, carpeting, regular height ceilings to my new space (loft with wooden floors and ceiling beams, 12 ft ceilings and brick walls with big windows).... boy, did that ever change the sound

I haven't seen the new beotime in person yet, but already I am very smitten by it's design. No idea when it will actually be available in Canada though I don't have any B&O in the bedroom to command , but would make it a point to install some, if I had one of these.... Finally something that looks like it's B&O worthy to me.

My parents had the beomaster 6000 when it came out and I still have a beomaster 5000 Personally, I find the beomaster 6000 is the better amp of the two, no doubt about it... but only by a small margin. Also important is to use the right speakers ( especially with B&O gear) to use with it. However, in daily use I very much prefer the beomaster 5000

Hi there, I have a 90 ies beosystem 7000 which has a more 'polished' metal look it than the original finish of the CX's. To answer your original questions : 1) all the CX are anodized, but the alu finished ones only seem to have some sort of dulling protective coating to them> 2) Off course sanding or whatever action you do to the finish

So, what was everyones first ever album purchase and do they still have it.
Ah, tough one! As far as the first album that I actually went out and purchased myself... I would have to guess: Blondie - Parallel Lines... I have no idea where it is!
LOL Guilty as charged .
from what i've read on the net the difference between appletv hd and blu ray is minimal at best , especially on screens 40" and less plus the appletv has the convenience factor , and i'm much more impressed by the reliability of apple's hardware than sony's i'm on my 3rd ps3 now and
