You may have a point, I do rarely use it or the VCR in my lounge now. But then I do still have a lot of video tapes that I will want to watch sometimes, plus most importantly IMO the VX looks really good underneath the MX so it would be a shame not to have it there! If there is a big problem with it they're so cheap

Sorry for my very untechnical response compared to the above. When I had a VX (and previous VCRs), when faced with picture problems, my first option was always to stick in a trusty head cleaning tape! But really, replacing 150 components. I suppose it depends on how much you love the VX, but is it really economical to maintain and continue using the

It could well be the room acoustics therefore. Not the best of news I'm sure. When I moved from England to Spain a few years back and connected up my system to my RL60s I was bit shocked by the 'new' sound. The environment had moved from fitted carpets, curtains and a low ceiling to a bigger room, tiled floor with rugs, a fairly high ceiling

I agree mfirst, we can argue about the music, it's all down to personal taste in the end. You can never succeed in persuading someone that a song or artist is 'great' if they themselves don't get it. Just like trying to convince someone that a joke is funny if they don't see the humour. I am of a certain age that I was young teenager
kids these days don't even know who the beatles are , do they ?
My son in law had never heard of the Battle of Britain. So your point therefore is?

Tend to agree Calvin, but there was an interest programme on BBC Radio 2 a week or so back about their studio work and George Martin and the engineers who have been involved in the remastering project described their work and the technical methods used to 'improve' the tracks, Many, apparently suffered from tape drop-out in places and, using
Hi Pestria, I think best option, I would go for, is BV5 ! Excellent TV and now really a good bargain. You can check Lifestyle-av.co.uk link And I think you are in budget with BV5 Number 2 on my list would be Avant 32 DVD, ridiculously cheep now, I don't need to tell about quality ... Good luck with your search
As the TV become thinner, larger screen do not seem so overpowering. p.
They do when they're switched on and some people think it is Ok to have a drink and a chat with a 46" screen belting out the new action movie in surround sound!
