Craig, Firstly, being oner here in the US, I haven't laid hands on one yet.... I agree, especially since B&O have been arbitrary and inconsistent in the past as to the use of numbers to represent volume...some go to 90, some to 72 (?), none to 100. Moxxey, I really can't imagine anything simpler or more intuitive than seeing the blue line

1 important point for both of you! The Black Friday $100 promotion is set for Saturday...and, no, don't push the shops too hard, B&O/America is setting the rules on this one. I have a BS-3 and really like it, although I only use the Radio. Give it a shot at the shop though...and sleep in on Friday. Russ

10%, those of us in the US hate you just a little bit...you'll be in possession of your BS-5 before demo units have even appeared in our shops. Good on ya! Git.... Russ

Obvious, when purchased new, but easily overlooked when purchased second-life. You MUST ALWAYS use fully wired PL cables with the BeoLab 5's. Russ

That list looks pretty thorough. You can't go wrong with the new Samsung or any of the Seleco/Sim2's. As to your second question, do you mean to ask 'How well' does it work, or 'How, exactly," Does it work? In the first case, it works VERY well. Earlier this year, I was involved with an installation of a BeoVision 7/US, which

mor: Does anyone know why B&O did not make use of a touch screen?? We don't know...we may never know. We may be told and never understand. Allow me to shamelessly borrow from Doutglas Adams' original radio-play for The Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. From Episode 10: BIRD ONE: Only decent thing our ancestors ever did. Come on, I’ll

Sorry Paddy, as most of you know , I'm in the US. The Avant/US came with one Component/RGB input meant for a 480p signal, which is the minimum advertised for the ATV. So, for me it was a straight-forward, if tedious, process. Longest process was getting the ATV set to 480p without being able to actually see the menu screen. But with a recent software

On this side of the Atlantic (not always a good indicator, to be sure), ALL BeoVision 5's had the VGA input, only the Avant/US is without it.

Adjustments are made in the 'Panel' menu in the service menu. Thje point is that each panel is somewhat unique...which is the reason for the label. Setting up an unknown panel properly would require the proper tools (a video calibration DVD at the very least.) Just plugging in a set of numbers from some other panel would leave you no better

Part of the problem you're experiencing is caused, I think, because the BeoSystem 3 has not been properly calibrated for the LCD panel you're using it with. Obviously the BS-3 leaves the factory having been set up with whatever devices they have (I'm guessing some variation of BV-4),,,and each and every BV-4 which ships out has a label on
