Hi Lee Yes, they did look a bit ropey, but hey, at the price... Did you happen to see his BS2300 while you were there?

beo4life: The first two digits of the serial number give the year of manufacture. I'm sure there is a FAQ on it somewhere on the site. Graham1982 is correct regarding the dates. They are conceptual rather than dates of manufacture. Well I never knew that! Thanks for the info, and proof that Beoworld really is a hive of useful stuff!

I think LifeStyle AV's purchase earlier today of 2 sets of BL4000 from eBay for £275 is pretty good going... I emailed the seller for a Buy It Now price, and then rebooted, was offline for maybe 90 seconds. Came back, and they'd gone! Some you win, some you lose, but congrats Lee - a very sharp buy!

Bass and treble are now knobless, and the tuning control is fitted with one of the tone knobs (index point, smooth edge). The knobs

Well guys it is here. A bit grubby around the front panel, but the cabinet itself is really nice - no damage to the corners or missing veneer. The stereo light lights on phono and tape, but not on strong FM, so my diagnosis so far (without having looked inside yet..) is the stereo decoder was never fitted, or has died - has anyone got one available
