I've "been there" (metaphorically and literally). You'll find it's often not economical to repair a piece of old B&O gear - it could easily cost more than the piece is worth. When this happens you might consider buying a replacement on eBay or Craigslist and selling yours on eBay as an item in need of repair. Much cheaper that

srywrgnbr: I have not read another post on this site in which someone was directly insulting people based on nationality. That's a new low. Sadly, it wasn't a precedent. Witness: http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/post/20417.aspx Members who engage in this kind of slander should be, to quote from The Shining, "corrected". IMHO.

Get whatever your favorite brand of speakers might be. That's what I've done with my Beosystem 6500.

Yes, the cartridge is old and they do have a shelf life. The rubber suspensions dry out with age resulting in distorted sound. You won't see anything under a magnifier, as the needle is fine. Sometimes the cantilevers look droopy - other times not. Time for a new cartridge I'm afraid - either a used MMC-series off of eBay (make sure the seller

I don't have an extra power supply and they certainly wouldn't appear on eBay as a solo item very often. Someplace I have the instruction manual tho - if you'll give me your email I'll scan it and send it to you. I'll also email you a photo of the power supply showing the part number.
