Might well do Cleve - had a check on the reference section here and it looks like the MC120.2s are 5 and 15mm too small for the plinths. Not sure if that would be noticeable???
-
Ah! I wonder if my MC120.2s would sit on the plinth without a gap? Might have to get the tape measure out tonight!
-
Stonk - are the trumpet stands on eBay yours?
-
Of course! 3 beeps = flat battery!!!

I always use a microfibre cloth and a vinegar-based glass cleaner, taking care not to rub too vigorously where there is a transfer or etched scale (there are plenty to avoid on the 2000!).
Because....in all fairness...is there a point in making it work at all ??
I think there's merit in restoring these old sets. About three years ago I bought one of the very sets that Martin restored, in what I think was his first ever restoration thread on this forum. The set gets used several times a week

I bet the increased functionality doesn't make it this useful:

A fully-working Beomaster 8000 in good condition would set you back between £250-300 (or approx $500ish). Beware though, as older ones on eBay will probably need some repairs now as they are complex machines. They also weigh a ton, so shipping from outside of the US would probably be prohibitive given your budget. They really are wonderful amps
-
Something to shout about then...

I have a 2000 in white and it is a great sounding amp. It also looks fantastic, but they do tend to blow the dial lamps as far as I know and replacement can be a bit of a problem if you're not electronically minded.
