http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/p/2541/25176.aspx#25176 There are some caps on the decoder board that can fail. The Workshop shows you the caps and the chips. It is also possible that the laser controller runs with the wrong laser current due to a defect cap 2103... there is also a Workshop how to repair the controller...

Poliermaschine

Try to replace the 82C55 PIO chip on the cpu board. This chip causes also this error message since some timing informations are lost. The MX4000 in my workshop had a defect 82c55 chip and had exactly this bad behaviour like your MX7000. Martin

You have checked the "no load current" of the amps? This should be the problem... maybe somebody deactivated the heat protection.
-
Hi, yes, there are other problems with the BM5500-7000. You can see that the amp section is on the left side, the power supply on the right side. There are some power regulators and there are also some red 10uF caps... replace them. Inside the CPU board is a cap, C1=47uf. This cap sometimes explodes... literally, causing high current and sometime the

The fuses are standard, nothing special and pretty cheap Look here... http://www.reichelt.de/?;ACTION=3;LA=2;GROUP=C47;GROUPID=3306;ARTICLE=12130;START=0;SORT=user;OFFSET=50;SID=25nCF5jKwQARkAACDXhR067137ca17766ce913ee05cb4b264db4a

No standby LED? Then either the fuses are defect, there are 2 of them... 1x for the standby transformer and 1x for the power amp. Check with an ohmmeter wether there is some resistance on the power cord, there should be something around 300 Ohms. If there is a open loop, then the fuse or the standby transformer is gone...

Hi, how is the Penta connected to the amp? PowerLink or Cinch or Speakerlink? Could be a defekt Powerlink cable. Or wrong source selected...powerlink used, but line selected.
-
Yes, it is possible to transplant the laser pickup from a newer drive in a older one and the other way. The pickup's are compatible. Also the foil cable is compatible, the length and signals are identical.
