Patrick: If the voltages are goine today, it sounds like an intermittent power supply fault. What I'd do is start with the windings of the power transformer. Do all the AC measurements to see that the the voltages are there. Then trace the individual AC windings to the rectifier componenets (ie bridge rectifier, diodes and the check for the output

Hi Patrick: We still need to eliminate potential faults to isolate the problem. Try "unloading" the power supply. First remove power connections to the CD player, next remove power connections the casette, then radio (get it down to the bare logic). See if any of those individually has any effect on your voltage readings or if you will allow

Hi Martin: What's the procedure for replacing the elements in the LEDs? Aren't all of the elements epoxyed in? Where can the VU bars be gotten? Any ideas how much for a belt kit? Derek

Hi: I have a Beocord 8000 and 9000 both with a dead led segment on the VU as well as a dead segment on the counter led. Has anyone figured out how to repair these? They seem to use exotic elements. The VU LEDs is an entire module; one that I've never seen before a standard bargraph element. Also is there a belt/idler kit available? Thanks, Derek

Solderon29, Martin: Thanks for the link and the tip. The bulb is a bit small, and because B&O drives these things with only 20 volts (to prolong bulb life) the glass envelope may not disperse enough light or it may be more sensitive to positioning. One alternative is to use 2 12V bulbs of this size in series. Here was my solution: I'm using

Just wanted to share a site that I found that supplies Beogram Belts at a very reasonable cost: $5 or $10 depending on model. http://www.turntablebasics.com/belts/bangandolufsen.html They also have silicon damping fluid that could be used to replenish the damping cylinder inside the beogram 4000 series turntables. I'm not sure which grade to use
