  • Re: BeoSound 5 Photos

You know, thinking about it, this head unit should only have a power cable to power the LCD. The control of songs etc... can be done purely and most simply by bluetooth to the master unit. No signal degredation of the music. I would also find it suprising that the screen could not become a portable tablet (it's small enough) provided the base had

  • Re: Bang & Olufsen posts loss on lower sales, keeps outlook

avus17: B&O products are simply to expensive, they increase prices each year and so also people who could afford their products years ago can not buy new products now. Also B&O product range is bad and formats are not up to date (HDTV ready to late, as other producers were offering HDMI inputs long before B&O, also no USB inputs with B&O

  • Re: Terrifying B&O Stories!

Got a real simple one. Play a pair of BL5's at max volume with a really deep bassy track. Watch one of them just switch off dead and panic to see if you have or have not broken it or fried it alive. Then take a valium or prozac 2 minutes later after you realise the protection system has kicked in. 10%

  • Re: B&O profesional audiophile equipment or not....

Nice anecdote. I have had a similar experience with my boss who occasionally professes to know something about "real" hi-fi. We once had a party and as always, the crowd gawps around my BL5's and the BC2. After playing a couple of my "reference" CD's to show off, I got a "hummm. it's a nice sound" in a rather

  • Re: What will happen with BS9000

The way I read the BS5 from the photo's I have seen is that it will be a direct replacement (in the physical sense) to Beomedia1 and Beoport. I'm sure it can be a master or slave but eitherway, the ML system will ensure that all previous ML compatable equipment can be used with it. What will be interesting to see is if the BS5 will have "placeholders"

It was actually Scheele who discovered the Calcium Oxide version of wolframite (CaWO3) After concentrating (via gravity, or froth flotation,) the concentrate is converted into APT (Amonium ParaTungstate) then calcined into the metal which has a specific gravity similar to that of gold (approx 19.5mt/m3). Hence a small amount will weigh alot and balast

  • Re: Collecting B&O

I have collected only two pieces of vintage B&O; A mint Beocenter 9500 - the stuff of my schoolboy dreams and a mint Beogram 8002. Having played with the 9500, I somehow despite my nostalgia prefer (dare I say it) the Beocenter 2. I for one think the new machines (some of them) are actually better than the old stuff. I would like a mint Beosystem

From the photos I have seen, I have not seen the tablet seperate from the angular stand. That said, the design is very "industrial" and very un-B&O. The control wheel extends down to the stand exposing effectively 3 aluminum "rings". The first (on top of the tablet) is the control wheel. The second is a space (on the other side
