The DVD was put at the top of the avant because the designers wanted the user to be comfortable when loading a disc, no bending down. I agree that this is a fantastic budget soloution.
Total agree. I had Avant before and bought DVD1 pretty cheap so I did this. Most for fun!
Nice Idea But what about the dust you'll get? As you may have noticed there was a lot of dust on the top cover of the VTR. So, as I see the open surrounding of the DVD unit/laser, I think it will only work for a short time. Next step, replace the dolby surround module with a DD/DTS version? (Only type 8300 or higher

I tried to use "eject" button at the panel but I cant get it work properly. So I use the original button from DVD1 as you can see in one of the pictures I know I can use Beo5 to eject but

The button I have created on the Beo5 doesn't work. IR command I used is 0:000:RADIO:AUX_V This is V.AUX in radio mode (just like the buttons for AV TV) but this one doesn't do the
-
It can be programmed to send IR commands: If you want to wake up to the radio, it will simply send the IR command for Radio (so you do not need to set a wake-up timer in the main room). Roger
Ohh this I like
