The Beogram 5000 is a much under rated deck - most people swapped to the Beogram 5005 - me included - and although the convenience of remote control over the arm is quite fun, the sound quality of the 5000 is in my opinion better. One also tends to listen to the entire side as recorded anyway so the initial thoughts of more control are probably mostly

To be fair, most of what we chucked was either broken, badly scarred or water damaged. Most of it was mine originally - even the best pieces were in a sorry state - Frede can attest to this as he had the unenviable task of attempting to restore my 5000 system - I am not sure that any of the originals survived! We did however keep a large amount - I

They can be repaired and this is the cheapest option - Axel in Germany will retip it - or upgrade it to an MMC2 if you want! The latter is obviously expensive! Look in the articles - his web link is there - at work so don't have it to hand!

I think it will be worse - the MCL2P is only 30W. The Cona only goes down to 40Hz anyway - the RL6000s goes down to 42Hz.
