Hi Rookie, I know I responded to other thread, but thought I'd respond here as well to clear up a few more things.
Hello, i was thinking about a way to improve the sound of my B&O-System that you can see in my profile. It is espacially the Beolab 5, which i would like to exploit better. My current setting is,
...big daddy(FH001) is about 13.000£ and need amplifier under 150 hz :(...
Horn speakers .. well, let's just say that I have yet to hear or see one that measures as good as mediocre normal passives. And passives doesn't even sound good. Active is where it has been happening for decades, and I
Probably put the last bit badly - more meant as everyone is entitled to their opinion - clearly some opinions are simply wrong - earth flat etc - but people are entitled to express them.
That was what I hoped you meant!
I also don't mind who contributes to the discussion. Some of us have had or have large collections of B&O products - some will have maybe just the A8 earphones or a bottle opener. But we all have an opinion and the sharing of opinions is what the internet is all about. People may discount another's opinion

A decent pair of headphones coupled to even an average portable music player will surpass most "hifi". It will certainly surpass any setup with passive speakers as it has no crossover and most active setups as well.
New design??? what is wrong with the way it is now?
I read it as if he wanted the innards changed and a display incorporated to support that digital functionality = a new design

To give the Beolab 9000 a run for the "best design ever", I have to mention the Beolit 400-600 range. It's exceptionally good design. But since we're in a digital age, my vote goes to the BL5s. Maybe not as iconic as the BS9000 (yet), but it too is an exceptional good design and with functionality and raw power to match.

Sorry, but I just discovered this and thought I'd clarify (my emphasis)
before it gets transmitted by the speakers ICE's acustically ???
Nothing get's transmitted "acoustically". Acoustics is the teaching of how sound waves physically behaves. "Analogously" is the right word in this
"1) They use an old D/A converter. I can tell, because it has no support above 48kHz, it's solely 16bit with absolutely no support for 24bit, and it's native sample rate is 44.1kHz (i.e. if playing a 48kHz file it will downsample it)." So ... if something like this sounds better than the native B&O
