• Re: PRIZE DRAW date. A rethink, perhaps??
I'm never sure of what time the draw starts.....is there a set time? Maybe if it was a little bit earlier? Just a thought!
I believe it is 9.00pm UK time, which also means that the rest of the Europe will have to stay up rather late (not to mention on Wednesdays®...). I have no problem, I'm just
I admit to not being a poster since I cannot do with all the hearty congratulations and the like. I am afraid it is just not me.
I have the same problem - and to add to that, I never, ever win anything anywhere, and that isn't just Beoworld I usually read the threads anyway and jump in if I catch something

  • Re: CD servo board problem

Thanks, guys - it wasn't quite this easy though; -9.5V apparently gets overloaded and can't keep its level. Either the transistors are faulty after all, or TR6314 under the decoder board (the only thing between raw power supply and this rail) has had it. I'll need to get proper replacements before trying again some other day, the Blu-Ray

  • Re: datalink pins in DIN socket
Mika, you happen to know where is a good selection of aluminium boxes for the switch? My experience of electronic arts and crafts are a bit outdated. Connectors etc I find from partco.
Glad it works Since you're from Helsinki, I would visit Bebek and see what they have in store... they often have stuff on

  • Re: BeoSound 5 - First Impressions
I can't believe again that B&O proposes an ugly stick as a solution for wireless. The BM5 should be equipped with a wifi card as standard.
I applaud that decision. It's easy to upgrade to anything Windows XP will support without having a then useless card left in the Beomaster, and if the field

I think it was Jandyt who wondered about mine on some Wednesday®, so here's a bigger version to celebrate that we can attach images again:

  • Re: Power Off or Standby
A few years ago, a very experienced engineer told me that the unplug/leave on decision is not as simple as just saving the electricity use during standby overnight. In essence, he suggested that many electronic devices benefit from the "stability" that being left on 24/7 brings, or maybe more correctly,

  • Re: Power Off or Standby
I just purchased a device sold in the US called a Kill a Watt meter. It plugs into a wall outlet and measures the amount of electricity consumed by anything plugged into it. I measured my system a Beovision 4, Beosystem 3, Beolab 7.2, 2- BL 8000, a cable box and Samsung blueray player. All these products consume 50 watts

  • Re: CD servo board problem

Oh, never mind, I'll just nick the transistors from the other board if they still measure OK

  • Re: CD servo board problem

Thanks! I'll take a better look at the patient tomorrow. From the looks of the schematic, it seems there'll probably be no other damage than the transistors and resistors, hope the opamp is OK. I'll check the +/-9.5V supplies first, though... and BC338 probably can't be an NPN and PNP at the same time The PNP one must in reality be BC328
