• Re: Is B&O coming with an separate Bluray player soon?
My thinking is that Blue Ray is kind of like DAT (remember that?), where the progression went from Vinyl to Cassette to DAT to CD to MP3. Most people skipped the DAT step.
I don't think DAT was ever seriously offered as a consumer format. It had a good life in professional AV industry, though, and even as
Those speakers have no volume at all, from the looks of it i can't see how they produce any Base Frequenzies.
If they are indeed electrostatics, they don't need any volume for that. (no, I don't know anything else than what I read in this thread, and no, I couldn't make out anything of the web

  • Re: Loewe commercial
Agree with 10% about the DVB-S - in the UK the only real choice in satellite is Sky which cannot be built in and if you have Sky, you might as well have Sky+ which gives you seamless recording with the B&O remote including link rooms.
It seems to me that people in the UK aren't too aware that all this

  • Re: New B&O book for collectors.

I just got the copy I ordered from Amazon on the 2nd of September! Final price including everything was £23.20 (26.16 euros). I think I'll keep the signed copy, though

  • Re: Loewe commercial
I use the recording facility (in my case Tivo) to record content for plyback when I want to watch, not according to a schedule. I can no longer watch live TV. Given the recorded, commercial-free alternative, it is much too painful.
Seconded. I have now had for more than three years a Linux-based DVB recorder

  • Re: Value of BeoVision 1, BeoVision MX 4000, BeoSystem 2500 ?

MX7000 is bigger, probably newer and has active speakers compared to MX4000, so yes, it will be worth more - the problem with CRT tv's nowadays is that 2 * rather little is still rather little. In some cases you might have trouble giving them away... I can understand why you would prefer a flat TV, but keep in mind that you will have to spend quite

  • Re: Is you'r old b&o earthed !!!

The added protective earth wire will not bring you more protection unless the unit is connected to a grounded socket. Sometimes it can actually make things worse, i.e if you have a grounded extension cord fitted to a non-grounded socket. When one of the grounded units in that extension gets a fault, the live mains may be conducted to casings of all

  • Braindead Beomaster 5000

I have here a Beomaster 5000, which doesn't react to anything. When I plug it in, the relay on the preamp board activates, and deactivates shortly after I plug the receiver off. Other than that, it doesn't even light the standby dot. I measured the +5V to the CPU board, and it is there and seems stable. Any generic faults to check next?

  • Re: new phone

This seems to fit Trip's teaser pretty much exactly, except for the LCD and lights. The exact release date is 1st of April, I heard. Mark your calendars.
