  • Re: I hate E-Bay

I have to say there is a lesson here, in that you have left yourself open to fraud by listing one thing and doing another! I am not really surprised paypal took side with the buyer... I think I would have politely declined in this instance, or relisted with the new price and new terms. So really there is no reason to hate either in this case but only

  • Re: Beolab 5000 repair

I am sure Martin will come along with a recomended match but in the meantime try this site... http://alltransistors.com/ Also Mouser or digi-key for components although usually worth a large order to get free postage. as far as capacitors you will more likely struggle with 3000 but 3300 should be fine..

  • Re: BG4002 buying advice

You should suggest Peter that the 4000 could potentially be far more difficult to fix than the later 400x, but yes I think it is my favorite from a design point of view!

Hi Rich, Mouser are superb :-) Tbh doesn't sound like the trimmers are at fault if replacements haven't cured the problem... You maybe need to start by checking if you have a nice stable supply. Does the motor run freely? Hmm also have the replacement trimmers mean't the 45 setting can now be adjusted to its proper speed and beyond? Is 45

  • Re: 6000 QUAD Project

Hi Geoff I currently have a 6000 which is fine in every respect but you are welcomed with a thud at standby 'on'. I cannot see how this can be reduced, due to the fact we are dealing with a single rail supply whose mid operating point (at the amplifier output, about +30v to ground) is isolated via those large capacitors. Those capacitors on

I am sorry Lee, I knew about this thread and completly forgot to vote! I honestly thought there would have been many people voting and am absolutely shocked by the lack of response! I think the email system might have put people off a little, if you could have a little box to enter a user name that would have gained more results maybe...? Also a countdown
