Guy, i'll try to trace the broken 900 and take&post some pics of it's inside so you can compare. If you like i could send you the whole thing so you would have some spares :). Also there will probably be a partnumber on the board (s) which we can compare.

OK: Guy, if you check this out and if it seems a donor BM900 could work i'm almost sure i have 'dead' one somewhere here :).
-
So the 610 you have is actually the predecessor of the 900 ? I couldn't find anything in the product list so i wasn't sure it's a tube radio or not... But if a stereo decoder from a BM900 will do that shouldn't be that hard to get, piles of them here in NL and not worth much... Could you place a photo of your BM (or @Martin: is this

Michael, i'm kind of lost here, or missing something ?? You write it did not go to a B&O shop, you had to pay an icredible bill for , basically, a not repaired set and you blame B&O for it ? I agree with Graham (and believe me, i'm also critizising B&O where appliccable): any technician with proper skills should be able to open and

What i'm wondering about with those is: with which system they were supposed to go with: imho they don't go with any because of the orange displays and stainless steel whereas most/all sets from that time were aluminium and red led indicators. I was hoping (when i got my pair kind of by coincidence) they had a receiver for the beolink remote

Hi, what do you mean with 'sounds like it scans the entire fm scale' ?? If basically you don't receive any fm station at all whatever way try the MW /LW to start with... Also check the coaxial connection: a known weak part and it should have a little pin in the middle which sometimes breaks (resulting in no 'contact' with the aerial

(moderator, maybe this should be moved to the workbench ??) Assuming you know a bit about servicing tv's / electronics: start with measuring the HT transistor if it's short circuit and while you're there check the C connected to the collector of this transistor, i believe it's called C102 (6n8): a common fault is that the solderings

Well, according to B&O's own specs: http://www.bang-olufsen.com/UserFiles/File/Products/Technical%20Specifications/BeoSound3_en.pdf it's a class AB amp, actually i don't think there's a 'small' (low power) version of the ICE amp for these purposes.... To go back to the thread's topic: what you can do to 'extend'

Yeah: that's the one. (the radio i mean). Actually i just picked up my Beoworld-won BS3 so i can compare, haven't switched them on side by side yet but i'm almost sure that sound quality wise this 70's beolit is still the best sounding portable B&O ever made. The BS3 i think is something to get sort of used to, because it looks more
