a2bur: I have a Bv7-32 in my bedroom , I got a used one and paid £3500 ( you should be able to find a Bv6-26 for half that ) with a power floor stand and Bl7-1 . It's only a year old and is the same as sold now , don't think it's had as many updates as the 40 . It replaced a Bv6-26 and is a better picture and HD , also has a Dvd player

The panasonic comes with 16.9 as default. You need to change this to 4.3 output as this would give the symptoms you describe
